High-speed robots battle precision and obstacles on the track where only the fastest and smartest survive.
Date: 30/01/2026
Registration fee: 200/- per team
Team size: Maximum 4 members per team.
Goal: Navigate a rugged robot through a multi-terrain obstacle course. The team with the fastest completion time wins.
ONLY FOR UG STUDENTS
Guidelines:
1. Robot Selection (Two Options)
Teams have two choices regarding the robot they use for the race:
Option A: Bring Your Own Bot (BYOB): Teams can bring a custom-built robot. It must adhere to the Robot Specifications listed below.
Option B: Organiser Provided Bot: Teams without a robot can use a standard bot provided by the event organisers.
Note: Damage to the organiser's bot due to reckless driving may incur penalties.
2. Robot Specifications (For Custom Bots)
If you are bringing your own robot, it must meet these limits:
Size: Must fit within a 30 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm box at the start.
Power: Electric motors only. Maximum voltage is 12V.
Mobility: Wheels or tracks are recommended. Flying (drones) is not allowed.
3. Track & Obstacles
The course is designed to test driving skills on difficult terrain. Expect the following:
Loose Soil: Sand pits or gravel sections.
Elevation: Uphill and downhill ramps.
Bridges: Narrow, elevated paths requiring precise steering.
Bumps: Speed breakers and rocky surfaces.
"Hit & Fall" Tasks: Obstacles or targets (e.g., stacked cubes) that the robot must physically ram/hit to knock over in order to proceed.
4. Race Format & Timing
Run Time: Each team gets 1 run. The best time is counted.
Time Limit: Maximum 5 minutes per run to complete the course.
Start/Stop: Timer starts when the robot crosses the Start Line and stops at the Finish Line.
5. Penalties & Scoring
Out of Track / Reset: If the robot goes off-track, flips, or gets stuck, a team member can reset it to the previous checkpoint.
Penalty: +5 seconds added to the time per touch/reset.
Skipping Obstacles: If a robot cannot clear a specific obstacle (e.g., the bridge) after 3 attempts, they may skip it.
Penalty: +30 seconds added to the time per skipped obstacle.
Task Failure: Failure to complete a "Hit & Fall" task results in a time penalty (e.g., +15 seconds).
6. Judge Decisions
Judges decide if an obstacle was cleared successfully.
Any arguments regarding the fairness of the organiser-provided bots will not be entertained; they are standard for all who use them.
