Rangam Short Film Competition celebrates emerging storytellers and aspiring filmmakers. The competition provides a platform for participants to showcase their creativity, cinematic vision, and storytelling skills, encouraging original voices and innovative filmmaking. Bringing together passionate creators and cinema enthusiasts, it aims to inspire meaningful conversations and foster a vibrant culture of independent filmmaking.
Rules and Regulations
The contest is an open event, irrespective of the language, cultural, geo-graphical borders. Entries are invited from all.
The entries have to be original. Content copied from any external source shall lead to direct disqualification. However, music or BGM can be taken from other sources, provided they are credited properly.
Only films completed on or after 1st January, 2025 are eligible for entry into the competitions.
There is no subject or theme for the competition in particular.
For this edition of Rangam Short Film Competition, we will not be accepting entries for documentary films.
The film cannot exceed a total of 30 minutes of running time, not including the title card and credits.
Entries may be in any language, but suitable on-screen English subtitles must be furnished.
The jury would pick the best ten from the list of submissions at the end of the first round of screening.
Only the above ten entries would be screened during the competition and the screening would be solely at the discretion of the jury.
The final round of the competition screening would be judged and awarded in the following categories:

Physical presence of the participant is not mandatory during the competition. All films must be submitted to us through the registration form given.
The registration fee is Rs.699 only.
The entries must be submitted on or before 24 September 2026. The decision of the jury regarding the results of the competition shall be final and binding. In case of any dispute, the decision of the coordinators of the event shall be final and binding.
