Rhythia is a rhythm-action survival game in which the player battles zombies in a corridor using just one sword. The game works by having a shrinking ring appear around each individual zombie, the ring pulsing in time with the music. To kill a zombie, the player must strike when the ring reaches the point at which it closes. If the timing is correct, the zombie is killed or takes heavy damage; nearly perfect timing results in only half the damage being dealt, while poor timing causes the sword to bounce away for a few seconds. The zombies remain inactive until there is a change in the melody of the song, this change acting as a signal to begin charging. More resilient zombies require more perfectly timed strikes but there is no need for combos. Each perfect strike increases the score, although the score is reset whenever the player takes damage. The player begins the game with three hearts, which are lost when they die.
